The problem

The challenge is to create animating items on screen where the parameters extend beyond placement and positioning, into time, trajectory and inertia. Developing and implementing this in a UX space was technically complex and required hands-on collaboration with developers. 

The Solution  

I defined start and end parameters and defined a system on Figma to help translate speed, rotation and positional indices easily. The result was defined interaction design which used the screen as a full canvas for exploration.

Poker Spins

The problem

Most poker clients use slots machines to present this mechanic. We wanted to position ourselves away from this, but also present the other multiplier figures to increase anticipation of winning a large prize pool 

The Solution  

Using the facets of a hexagon you can see adjacent multiplier figures while keeping the winning facet highlighted and in view. The table colour was configured to correspond with winning prize pool. Adding a unique colour scheme each time you play.

2022

Interaction Designer

I design and implement animated slot and poker game elements that integrate seamlessly into gameplay, including characters, assets, and interactive components. My work aligns closely with broader game design systems and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across products. I track game performance using industry metrics and use data-driven approaches like A/B testing to inform design decisions. I translate high-level direction from senior stakeholders into actionable tasks for mid and junior team members, supporting delivery within an agile framework using tools like Jira.

I regularly prototype and define specifications in Figma, and create UI assets using tools such as After Effects, Lottie, Illustrator, Cinema 4D, and Photoshop. My day-to-day work includes designing micro-interactions, enhancing UX elements like buttons and loading screens with motion, and collaborating closely with developers and QA to implement games within a proprietary engine. All work is optimised for mobile, tablet, and web, with a strong focus on mobile-first design.

2020

Senior Motion Designer

As a Senior Designer, I craft brand and marketing concepts as well as social media campaigns, cascading creative direction to the wider team. I produce a range of content including explainer videos, social posts, and reels across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok. Alongside this, I mentor junior and midweight designers, supporting their professional development and career growth.

2018

Motion Designer

Working within the promos team, I created campaigns and graphics to promote upcoming films on Sky Cinema. These assets were delivered across multiple touchpoints, including Sky channels, social media, the UI (EPG), and other media platforms. I also designed graphics for content spanning a wide range of Sky channels and products.
